NetPEM Public Trust was established in February 2002 under the Bombay Public Trust Act No. E-1691 . The primary focus of the organization is to promote the implementation of Preventive Environmental Management (PEM) and Sustainability Strategies through Education, Training and Research in the Asian Region.

NetPEM is one of the pioneer and premier research institutions in Central India actively working in the field of Preventive Environmental Management (PEM). It has helped many premier Indian educational institutes like Centre for Environmental Science & Engineering, IIT Powai and University of Hyderabad in developing academic programmes related to environmental management and sustainable development.
